The community table

The Main Street Farmers’ Market offers Washington area non-profit organizations the opportunity to promote themselves and their activities at the Market. If you wish to participate, we will provide you with a location near the Pavilion and the entrance to the Market. We can also provide a card table and a large umbrella-canopy for protection from the sun. We will also announce your participation in our newsletter, sent to over 850 fresh email addresses every week.

There are a few practical matters and a few minor restrictions. The Market is held every Thursday, from May 17th through October 25th, 3:00 to 6:00 pm. You will need to supply any display items or literature that you’d like to use. You may set up at any time between 1:30 and 3:00 pm and the Market asks that you stay until 6:00 (barring bad weather). The Market has altered the location of the Community Table in order to better accommodate our vendors. Those of you who have participated before probably recall using a large table and a full canopy. Unfortunately, these will not fit the new location. We will provide a card table with a fitted tablecloth, chairs, and and an umbrella canopy for your use. We plan on placing these on the sidewalk leading down to the Market, along the curb near the Pavilion. This seems to leave plenty of room for people to pass down the sidewalk, so long as the chairs are beside the table, not behind it.  This is a very prominent spot.  We’ll see how it works in practice during the first few weeks of the Market.

The Market also asks that participating organizations use their appearance to promote their good works and that they not use their appearance to solicit funds, sell raffle tickets, or sell other items without prior approval.

If you would like to participate, please contact us. Thanks for your interest.
